Is the 10 kW model good for whole-house backup?
The 10 kW is best for essential-circuit protection (fridge, sump pump, lights). For whole-house coverage, we usually recommend 14 kW or 18 kW, depending on your HVAC and load; we perform a free load assessment to confirm.
At normal load, the unit measures about 61 dB(A) at 23 ft; in Quiet-Test exercise mode, the noise falls to ~57 dB(A). Proper siting further reduces perceived noise.
The unit runs on natural gas or propane (LP). Fuel line sizing and fuel pressure must meet generator requirements; Horizon evaluates this during the site visit.
